Built in 1883 by the Campbell family, Kilburnie Homestead is the birthplace of local artist Ruby Campbell. Nowadays, Kilburnie Homestead is an operational cattle station with added history, art & music displays and open days…..and perhaps a ghost or two!! Make sure you get along to one of the open days for a taste of what’s on offer. It truly is an amazing experience.
2019 Open days
Light refreshments available.
27th of April will be the first open day for 2019. From 11am – 5pm – “The Campbell Clan at War”. Fundraising for RFDS. Live music, Art and History Exhibits, Water Horses. Entry fees apply.
11th May will be an evening opening. From 4pm – 9pm there will be “Twilight Tours” and camp oven dinner by moonlight. Live music, Art and History Exhibits. Entry fees apply. Bookings essential for dinner.
8th June we will open between 11am and 5pm – “Artist-residency Weekend”. Catch up with equine artist Lian Meaney during her visit to Kilburnie. Check out their Facebook page for events and activities/workshops on offer. Entry fees apply.
7th July will be an “Iron and Fire” and kids activities day. From 11am – 5pm. Blacksmithing displays, billy-tea and damper will be available. Buggy rides, live music and kids activities. Entry fees apply.
31st August will be our final open evening for the year. From 4pm – 9pm – “Charity Art Auction and Dinner”. Live music, Tours, Art Exhibition and Auction. Bookings essential. Entry fees apply.
