The Theodore River Festival is a fun filled family event that runs different events/activities over several days.

In 2021, the festival honours our First Nations Australians and marks the start of the Theodore Centennial Celebrations. Focused on families, thousands turn out to parkland, showground and civic hall events that throw the spotlight on the mighty Dawson and all that’s great about Theodore.

This year, the festival begins with the Art Show Opening Event on 7 October. The Art Show continues on 8 October at the RSL Hall, then the festivities ramp up on 9 October with a Fun Run, Hooked on Theodore Fishing Competition, food and market stalls, not to mention special guest Bush Tucker Bunjie!

Dawson River Cruises, a rock climbing wall, live entertainment and other fun activities are guaranteed to please the whole family!

48-hour camping is available at Junction Park by the Dawson River along with picnic facilities, and hot showers for a donation.
